Q. Will you place ads on my site?
A. DSH will NOT place ads on your site.

Q. Do you allow sites to advertise for money, on their web site?
A. Yes, we allow sites to have commercial advertisements.


Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express or bank draft through Paypal.

Q. Are your servers Unix, or NT?
A. We have both NT and Linux servers available, depending on your hosting plan. Windows is used to host ASP, ASP.net, etc. while Linux hosts PHP and other Linux/Unix services.

Q. Do you allow adult sites?
A. No, we do not allow adult-only sites.

Q. What control panel do you use and do you have a demo?
A. The control panel we use is called Cpanel. A demo of Cpanel can be found here Login with the username demo, and the password demo.

Q. Can I pay monthly?
A. Yes, you may pay monthly. The annual price and discount are entirely optional.

Q. How long does it take to setup my account?
A. Your account will usually be setup within 30 minutes of ordering during normal business hours. You will be notified by email of your account setup and login information, as soon as the account is ready to use.

Q. Are there any hidden costs or other fees?
A. No. The one-time setup fee of $25.00 and the monthly fee for the plan you choose are the only hosting fees. Other services are available if we can further assist you, but are entirely at your option.

Q. How much is extra bandwidth and space?
A. If you need more bandwidth or disk space e-mail us to upgrade you to a higher plan. If you need more bandwidth or space than our highest plan offers, email us with your extra bandwidth or space requirements for further assistance.

Q. Can I password protect directories?
A. Yes you can password protect directories within CPanel.

DNS

Q. How long does it take to get my domain working?
A. It usually takes 24-48 hours for a domain to fully propagate.

Q. Can I view my site even though my domain's name servers haven't propagated yet?
A. Yes . Go to http://67.18.52.66/~yourusernamehere/ to view your site.

Q. What do I set my domain's name server to?
A. Set the primary to ns1.dshww.com and the secondary name server to ns2.dshww.com for your server's dns.

Q. Where do I go to login to my control panel?

FTP

Q. Where can I download a free FTP?
A. We recommend downloading WS FTP from here

Q. It's not letting me upload my files. What's wrong?
A. Make sure you are uploading to the right web directory which is the public_html folder.

Q. Why doesn't my ftp password change when I change my Cpanel password?
A. Please allow 24 hours for your FTP password to sync with your Cpanel password.

Q. How do I create email accounts?
A. To create an email account login to your control panel and click add/remove email accounts.

Q. What do I put for both incoming and outgoing mail server?
A. For both incoming and outgoing mail server put mail.yourdomainname.com

Q. Where do I go to check my emails using my browser?
A. yourdomainname.com/webmail/

CGI/ASP/PHP/MySql/JSP

Q. None of my cgi scripts are working on the server. How do I get them to work?
A. Make sure that they are chmoded to 755.

Q. How do I create databases and manage them?
A. Login to your cpanel and click MySQL Databases. After your database is created you can manage it from phpmyadmin. This can be found at the very bottom of the MySQL page.

Billing

Q. How can I update my billing info?
A. Login at paypal.com and click "profile" to make your changes.

 

Q. How do I upgrade my account to a better plan?
A. Email us at support@dshww.com with requests to upgrade your account.

 

Q. How do I make a payment?
A. All monthly online payments are recurring. Your payment will automatically be deducted. Annual payments can be made during the last thirty days before your original signup date.

Q. Do you allow reselling?
A. Not at the current time.

SSL

Q. What is the difference between shared ssl and private ssl?

A. A shared ssl displays as https//ip/~yourusername/ A private ssl would display as https://www.yourdomain.com in the address bar.

 

Q. I'm going to purchase my own ssl what do I need to know?

A. Our servers are Apache + Mod SSL If you require assistance from us to install it there will be a $30.00 installation fee.

 

Q. How do I transfer an ssl?

A. Every place that sells ssl's has a different transfer procedure. You will need to ask the supplier you purchased it from.
